Outdoor Ground for Target Archery
Venue – Cottesmore Field site, Pease Pottage
If interested to visit please email enquiries@crawleyarcheryclub.co.uk for precise ‘Whatthreewords’ location.
Access to the site is down an unmade up lane please approach at slow speed.
We currently do not have an Indoor site available but the 24/7(daylight hours) availability provides good flexibility for all year shooting.
Cottesmore – Etiquette
The club would remind/ask that all archers attending Cottesmore site help set up and take down the moveable targets used during the structured Club shooting sessions (Saturday and Sunday mornings) and please talk to your fellow archers about what (distances) to set up so that everyone can enjoy themselves, and to ensure that no one is left with targets to put away (ideally if only two people left, there should only be two targets to put away). The use of the permanent targets is available seven days a week. We ask Archers to remove the faces at the end of their session and return the tubes to their storage site near the container. There is NO lone shooting on the site for health and safety reasons as agreed by all members at our AGM. We have a WhatsApp chat group to partner up for a session. We also use the chat to report arrows lost and found on the site. A reminder to please always secure the padlocked gate when leaving the site.
Please be aware that members of the public do enter the site and you should stop shooting if they enter the restricted shooting area. Although they are trespassing on to a private site SAFETY is the first priority!
We do allow ALL CARBON ARROWs – but all lost arrows should be reported via the WhatsApp chat group.
Members, please note: The tractor at our Cottesmore ground must only be driven by members who have been authorised to drive it. They do so at their own risk. No one is allowed to ride on the trailer at any time.
